How to successfully verify your business on Flutterwave

Updated 2 days ago

To complete your account verification on Flutterwave, here are some specific details to guide you through the process:

  • Ensure that your bank or mobile money account name matches your business name. If there's a mismatch, leave the bank details field blank.

  • Do not link a personal bank account to a registered business account, or vice versa. If you don’t have corporate bank account information for your business, leave the field blank and continue with your verification.

  • For Nigerians, the full name on your Bank Verification Number (BVN)  must match the name on your valid ID.

  • Ensure your business details such as business address, directors information, and shareholders information are accurate and up to date with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) or the relevant regulatory body in your country.

  • Use the correct prefix for your business registration number:

    • BN for sole proprietors

    • RC for limited liability companies

    • IT for incorporated trustees. (NGOs, Non-profits and Trustees)

  • Use the correct identity number during verification, and ensure your ID is valid (not expired)

  • Submit only original documents. Do not use photocopies, scanned copies, or printed images.

  • Ensure your ID and business registration documents are clear and legible, not laminated, peeled or broken.

  • If you are registering on behalf of your organization, kindly ensure that the director(s)' information is accurate, and prompt them to complete their registration as well.

  • Ensure your proof of address document is clear, legible, and issued within the last 90 days.

  • Take a picture of your ID in a well-lit environment, ensuring the entire image and text are clear and legible.

  • Don’t use saved pictures of your ID and business registration documents; use your device’s camera to capture a new picture of the original ID or document.

  • Submit both the front and back of your ID when verifying your identification document.

  • For registered businesses, ensure business directors complete their separate verification process. Each director will receive an email to complete their verification.

  • Ensure that your live verification is done in a clear and well-lit environment.
